What is VOIP?

VOIP stands for “Voice over Internet Protocol” and means that voice, or sounds are translated into data and transmitted across an internet connection or network – just like any other file or email you might send. Once the data reaches the other end (be it a landline, mobile or IP phone) it is transformed back into its original form and emerges like a regular phone call.

This process, of course, is so fast that you won’t even notice it happening.

Arguably, the most important fact about VOIP is that is uses broadband or a DSL to carry digital signals and that the carrying capacity of this connection is much higher than that of a traditional telephone line.

Whereas in the past – connecting one phone line would give you ONE phone, a VOIP set-up will give you as many lines as your bandwidth can facilitate. This will mean you will be paying less in line rentals and PBX maintenance costs.

Greencom VOIP adds to all this by offering a selection of work-enhancing features and a reliable support network.

This feature-rich solution requires no complex installation and will increase mobility by easily allowing staff to work from the office, home or abroad.
